The name of the car is Ultimate Aero TT and it is made by an American company called Shelby Super Cars (SSC). SSC plans to launch the car in Mumbai in a few months. If it goes on sale it will be the costliest car to be sold in India with a price tag of 6crores which includes the 110% import tax.

If you haven’t heard of it, it is the fastest car in the world with a theoretical top speed of 462kmph that’s 57kmph more than the top speed of the Veyron. It clinched the Guinness world record for the fastest production car in the world with a run of 412kmph.

Lets gain a little perspective on the 57 more Kmph, The Mclaren F1 had a bigger V12 engine which produced 550hp which was good enough to push it to a top speed of 391kmph but to reach the 400Kmph mark Bugatti has to give the Veyron a w16 engine with 4 turbo chargers which produce 1000hp. Bugatti literally has to provide an extra engine to gain 10 more Kmph but the Aero seamlessly did a staggering 57 more Kmph with a V8. It can only be explained as a miracle.

The first problem with the TT is its name. For a car to be sold at 6crores in India it should have a heritage, Shelby Super Cars lack that. Then is the luxuries, which the TT doesn’t have any. Then the looks, which is text book super car designing, it’s like SSC took the book “how to design a super car” and copied the Front cover.

It definitely is a miracle considering what it does, but Are Indian’s ready for a car which simply has no heritage, no luxuries, and no radical looks for a price tag of 6 crores, just for the speed? I don’t even think it will manage a single sale.
