This is the list of our favorite concept cars from 2009. As the title reads carpet to tarmac, this list consists of concepts which might have a chance at production. But this is all pre-Frankfurt Motor Show, we might have to re-think the list after Frankfurt. keep in touch for updates.

This is the list of our favorite concept cars from 2009. As the title reads carpet to tarmac, this list consists of concepts which might have a chance at production. But this is all pre-Frankfurt Motor Show, we might have to re-think the list after Frankfurt. keep in touch for updates. but for now here goes the list.

Volkswagen Bluesport

A car with a VW badge on it doesn’t say sporty but this speedy roadster just might. The car rather looks interesting (unlike all VWs). This one leans more towards being fuel efficient, it gets 42 mpg. Not a big surprise since it has underneath its hood a turbo-charged diesel.

Audi Sportback

It is called a sportback since it is has a hatched back instead of a boot. It is rumored to the carbon-copy of the much anticipated A7. The design is a bit simple and easy to follow for a concept. It is pushed by a 3L turbo diesel engine with produces 225 hp. It will have all wheel drive and 7-speed automatic transmission. One to look out for.

Scion iQ

The coolest car of the lot. Scion iQ is a pimped out version of Toyota iQ. It can even been called a super car, since it looks this it came straight from a 10year old’s sketch board. It has a killer bumper, knife edge spoiler, big foot alloys, grinning grills and electronic dashboard with LCDs all in a car smaller than the mini. They might as well named the iQ micro. If this hits the road, the world of Need For Speed will no more be Under Ground!

Rolls Royce 200EX

It’s a new Rolls Royce and that’s all it needs to do be on the list. The 200EX is the baby Phantom and at this point we don’t know if it is going to be any good but as the saying goes “Like Father Like Son” we believe that it is going to be absolutely Royal!

Chevrolet Stingray

This is a concept car and a movie star. the Stingray was designed for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and since it looks so good, who knows the next corvette might be as mad as the autobot. Personally I feel they should bring back the design of the original 1966 stingray.

Lamborghini Estoque

Just listen to yourself pronounce “Estoque” you will feel the heart and soul of Italian Exotica. It is not just in the name, the design is so perfect; a four-door Lamborghini couldn’t look more Lamboish than the Estoque. the indicator lights on the front head light cluster lights up in blood red! We leave you with that.

Koenigsegg Quant

The Swedish tongue twister has gone solar with this one. The whole body panel is coated in photovoltaic film, letting it travel 300 miles on a 20-minute charge. It looks as concealed as a submarine with is incognito windscreen.

Mini Coupe Concept

Mini Coupe Concept is the most likable and the most likely candidate in our list to make its way to production. It will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month. It is likely to hit the showrooms in 2011. This design is off the beaten track for Mini which is the concept of concept cars.

Cadillac Converge

The Converge is rather small to be a Cadillac but it’s got the Bling working for it. This could be GM’s electric future and it does look bright. The front profile is match with the big shinny grill and diamond studded like head lights. The alloys are huge and artistic.

Volvo S60

A preview of the 2010 model, this concept is an elegant retake on Volvo’s practical style. The hood, fenders, and doors are what drivers expect in an executive sedan. But its angular intakes and headlights, surprising windshield shape, and glass console give this machine a touch of class.
