The crown “Fastest car in the World” could be quite tricky to sworn on to. Technically Keating TKR and SSC Ultimate Aero have higher top speeds than the Veyron (by a mile or two), but they are unheard of and there is a reason for it. Sure pedigree is one but there is much more to it.

The TKR and SSC were faster on Guinness test runs the Bugatti is faster every single time. The TKR and SSC have a carbon fiber shell which is as thin as an egg shell but the Bugatti is rock solid even at 400kmph (ask James May about it). The interior of the Veyron is French elegant and exquisite. The various panels and button on the Bugatti is made out of almost every element on the periodic table and not just plastic and leather.

Coming to the “Expensive car in the World” title which incidentally goes to the Aston One-77 which according to people who knows these kinds of things, is heavily overpriced. Veyron on the other hand is so underpriced that VW (which owns Bugatti) is making a loss with every sale. Mind you the Veyron which we are talking about here is the base version, the Special edition Veyrons cost up to 2.5million dollars.

If there is one car in the world whose performance stats and engine specs are known to a 5 year old, it has to be the Bugatti Veyron. There is a reason to it, it is the only production car in the world to have a 16cylinder engine formed from two V8s put together and is heated with 4 turbo chargers and cooled with 10 radiators. If you thought that was mammoth wait till you hear this, it just has 4 wheels!

This madly popular star of a car is coming to India says Economic Times. I am sure people are going to be skeptical about this as India is portrayed as the land of rotten roads and the land which “welcomes” CBUs but being skeptical about this is senseless. Bugatti aren’t trying to sell a thousand Veyron, not even a 100, actually not even a 10 considering only 200 are ever made (the car is so exclusive that the price goes up when someone crashes their own. I am sure there are a couple of multi-crorepathis in India who would buy a Veyron and I would consider myself lucky if I ever get a glimpse.

A month back Bugatti released a teaser of its 4-door supercar and spun the world with speculations. Now just ahead of the Frankfurt Motor show Bugatti unveiled it at an event for Bugatti’s past customers. This 4-door version of the Veyron will be called Galibier. It is named after a difficult Alpine pass along the Tour de France.

The Galibier will have the Veyron’s w16 quad-turbo engine but this one won’t push the Galibier into the 250mph barrier. The top speed will be 217mph which makes it the fastest 4-door saloon ever.

This is a concept version and it might go into production if Bugatti’s faithful customers like it but from where I stand it look rotten tomato ugly!
