Tata Motors has strengthened its presence in the Global Auto Arena with a 100% share acquisition of one of Europe’s biggest coach builder. Now Tata owns the British automotive brands Land rover, Jaguar in addition to that Tata motors bough the Daewoo brand and it is knows as Tata Daewoo Commercial vehicles in Korea manufacturing trucks. And now Hispano Carrocera joins the Tata Family.
Tata had 21% of the company’s share as early as 2005; recently it closed the deal by purchasing the rest of the 79% of the company for a disclosed amount. According to Tata, the acquisition will help strengthen its ongoing initiatives to improve operational efficiencies such as productivity, cost reduction and development of new products, to increase market share and enhance brand value.
Hispano Carrocera is one the largest manufacturers of bus and coach bodies in Europe with a production of 2000 units per annum. The company has two manufacturing plants one in Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain and the other in Casablanca, Morocco.
