BMW is bringing in its Porsche Boxster Killer on the 12th of this month at Mumbai. Nissan already has confirmed its 370z launch next year, so from the looks of it, this convertible sports coupe segment is suddenly taking a steep curve to the Peak.
The Pricing of the Z4 has to be crucial to take on the Boxter, it is being speculated that the Z4 will cost somewhere between 50 to 60lakhs. The Boxster is currently being sold in India for 44Lakhs. Nissan might offer a better deal with the 370z for around our reckoned cost of 35Lakhs.
Z4 has a straight 6-cylinder engine which produces 256bhp which can push the small Beemer to a 250kmph at a 0-100kms in 5.8 seconds acceleration. The Boxster has the same type of engine which puts out 310bhp a bit more than the Z4, this pushes the Boxster to 260kmph. The 370z does the same top speed as Z4 since both are restricted to 155mph (250kmph).
But the Z4 beats the other two with its looks; something about it makes it just this good. And the interior is fabulous for a BMW. Reviews from various sources around the world claim that the Z4 is more fun to drive than the Boxster, but as far as the 370z is concerned, it offers equal levels of fun as the Z4 for a much lesser price. Let sit back and watch how this three way battle turns-out.
