Maruti Suzuki SX4 is getting a major overhaul, which is to kick in, in the next months. The overhaul will include a engine change, interior refurbishing and exterior alterations.
The new job is done on the SX4 mainly because of two reasons, one being the SX4’s engine, which is Barath Stage III and the next level of emission standards which is Barath Stage IV comes into act in 11 cities in India by April of next year.
The second reason being the sluggish sales of the SX4 due to the arrival of new Honda city and Fiat linea. SX4 was launched 2 years ago and since then it has been doing a sales of about 1800-2000 units per month. Now that number has reduced to 800 units. Maruti has currently stopped the production of the SX4.
Maruti is trying to fix this problem by fixing the SX4 with a new 1.6 litre engine with more pick-up and power. On the marketing front Maruti is trying to improve the appeal of the SX4 by roping in John Abraham as its ambassador.
