26th august being the 50th birthday of the original Mini, we weren’t expecting anything less than a mini marvel and that’s exactly what BMW has offered. The Mini concept coupe is a looker on first site. It looks slight big for a mini but hey mini is no more mini. However with that dimension, this is the first time in a long time a Mini concept is looking this good. The Mini coupe concept will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. It might hit the market early 2011.
This Mini has a powerful engine from John Cooper Works. It is a 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine that cranks out 211 horsepower and a peak torque of 260Nm. The power goes to the front wheels. But this design rather looks too sportier to have a front wheel drive. The racing stripes make it even sportier.
This coupe won’t have 2 rear seats this increases the luggage space to 250 litres. This as far as we are concerned the good guys at Mini are back with a bang after the sickening design of the Mini crossover concept.
