Mercedes seems to have caught the angle-fever lately, first the beautiful roundness of the last-gen E-Class was changed dramatically, then the shooting brake concept was unveiled, which showcased an
even more angular facade and now we face the prospect of an angular…wait for it! ML-class, the full sized SUV from the Mercedes stable. The van-like look will be given a total and sporty makeover come 2011.
The current ML is known for its unique C-Pillar and really flared-up wheel arches. The new 2011 ML will retain these designing cues but radical changes are afoot to give a new edgy, mean and angry look to the ML.
Technically the car is set to improve by leaps and bounds. The power stakes will be upped for both the standard v6 and v8s. A much cleverer 4-matic system will ensure better fuel economy. Aside from the usual petrol and diesel variants, word on the streets is that a plug-in hybrid model might also be on its way. As much as we are environment conscious, we cannot but get more excited about the rumored AMG version with 571 HP. Bring it on!
